Description:

To facilitate business co-operation and matchmaking activities between eco-tourism partners in both Europe and the west African region, with an emphasis on the development of a high-value niche sustainable tourism market. The partners will develop and gain the required competencies and expertise from their European counterparts in the areas of knowledge transfer, management development, and other competencies in developing, packaging and marketing innovative sustainable tourism products. The project functions as a first and necessary step towards establishment of regulatory agencies to introduce standards, eco-labels, certification and quality control (as ECOWAS categorisation system for hotels).

VISIT (Voluntary Initiatives for Sustainability in Tourism), a project for the development of European standards for sustainable tourism in co-operation with existing labels in Europe (as well for destinations as accommodations).
