Training for sustainable tourism

Sustainable tourism training programs are necessary to educate and create awareness among stakeholders, like local communities
and entrepreneurs, on how to implement sustainable tourism strategies and the importance of such development. Together
with several professional partners, ECEAT-Projects worked on different projects developing and marketing training products.

Description:

Production and application of training materials, curricula, methodologies and back up support for trainers of ecotourism service providers across Europe. To facilitate the harmonisation of existing quality labels and to enable the efficient implementation of a European Ecotourism Label. For this purpose, the products of the ECO-ROUTE project will be revised, enriched and valorised to meet the training needs of the target-trainers and will be complemented by other existing training products that bear relevance to the central issue of the project provided that they will be evaluated as useful. The experience of the project partnership (including the ECO-ROUTE experience) will be shared and exchanged with a wide network of national and European organisations specialising in tourism-related quality labelling, sustainable rural development and tourism-related training.
